🍳 Cook it your way — 6 versions
Method — as easy as 2-minute noodles
- Jain version — no onion, no garlic, and no root/underground vegetables (potato, carrot, radish, beetroot). A pinch of hing (asafoetida) gives depth.
- Wash and soak the Dal mix for 10-15 minutes (optional but recommended)
- In a pressure cooker, add the soaked Dal Mix with the vegetables, garlic (skip — Jain), spinach, mint leaves, methi leaves, water, and the Magic Mixx.
- Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles, or until the mixture is fully cooked and soft. Let the pressure release naturally.
- Hand blend the contents to form a smooth and consistent mixture
- In a small fry pan add the ghee and chopped coriander, to make a flavourful tadka
- Drizzle the tadka over the dhansak and stir well
- Serve hot in an attractive bowl
- Optional : Make and add your own creative tadka with lots of love
- Tip: Adjust consistency to your liking by adding hot water.
👩🍳 Chef's tip: Jain version — no onion, no garlic, and no root/underground vegetables (potato, carrot, radish, beetroot). A pinch of hing (asafoetida) gives depth. | Serve the Dhansak hot, accompanied by a side of pav or bread balance the flavors. For an extra touch of indulgence, drizzle a little ghee on top before serving.
