Wash and soak the Dal for 10-15 minutes (optional but recommended)
In a pressure cooker, add the Dal, Magic Mixx (from the packet), and water
Pressure cook for 15 minutes or until 3 whistles
Allow the cooker to cool and open it
In a small fry pan add the oil, add grated ginger and chopped green chillis and sauté for a minute until fragrant
Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and the oil starts to separate
Add this ginger and tomato mixture to the cooked dal and stir well
Serve hot, garnished with fresh coriander in an attractive bowl
Optional: Add your own creative tadka with extra love and flavor!
Tip: Adjust consistency to your liking by adding hot water
👩🍳 Chef's tip: Serve the dal hot with steamed rice or jeera rice. Garnish with extra chopped coriander and a squeeze of lemon for a tangy kick. Pair with papad, pickles, roti, or naan for a complete meal.
