Saatvik version — no onion, no garlic; pure, gentle sattvic spicing (root vegetables are fine). A pinch of hing lifts it. | Serve your sambhar hot with steamed rice or soft idlis, and a side of crispy papad for added crunch. You can also add a side of fresh coconut chutney for a complete meal!

🍴 Recipe
  1. Saatvik version — no onion, no garlic; pure, gentle sattvic spicing (root vegetables are fine). A pinch of hing lifts it.
  2. Wash and soak the Dal for 10-15 minutes (optional but recommended)
  3. In a pressure cooker, add the Dal and 500ml water
  4. Pressure cook for 15 minutes or until 3 whistles
  5. Once cool, open the pressure cooker and blend the dal mixture to a smooth consistency
  6. Cut the vegetables (pumpkin, potatoes, drumsticks) into cubes. Boil them, along with the sambar onions (skip — Saatvik), separately in 500ml water until they are cooked but still firm.
  7. Add the cooked dal and Magic Mixx (from the packet) to the boiled vegetables (retaining the boiled water)
  8. Simmer the sambhar for a few minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
  9. Add fresh corainder for garnish
  10. Tip: Adjust consistency to your liking by adding hot water
