This Butter Paneer Makhani Biryani combines the luxurious, creamy flavors of Makhani sauce with the aromatic spices of biryani, creating a rich and indulgent dish that’s perfect for special occasions.
🍴 Recipe
- Boil, peel, and grind 300g tomatoes into a smooth puree.
- Heat a little oil or butter in a pan, add the tomato puree, and cook until thickened.
- Stir in 10g of Butter Paneer Magic Mix, blending well with the tomato base.
- Add 125g of fresh cream and stir until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Set aside.
- Lightly fry the paneer cubes in a pan with a little oil or ghee until golden on all sides. Set aside.
- Rinse basmati rice and soak for 20 minutes, then drain.
- Add the soaked rice, 2 cups of water, and salt. Cook until rice is about 80% done. Drain and set aside.
- In a heavy-bottomed pot or biryani dish, add a thin layer of Makhani sauce at the bottom. Top with a layer of rice.
- Spread half of the paneer cubes and pour more Makhani sauce over them. Sprinkle with fried onions, chopped coriander, and mint.
- Add another layer of rice, then top with remaining paneer and Makhani sauce, garnishing with more fried onions, coriander, and mint.
- Drizzle saffron milk over the top layer for added aroma and color (optional).
- Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid. Cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- If needed, place a flat pan under the pot to prevent direct heat and steam for even cooking.
- Garnish with additional fried onions, coriander, and mint leaves.
